How to install AED Pads in Philips HeartStart FRx AED
- Step 1: Open the protective case of the Philips HeartStart FRx AED and remove the electrode pads cartridge. Ensure the pads are undamaged and ready for use.
- Step 2: For adult use, no key is needed; however, if using on a child or infant, insert the Infant/Child Key into the AED to adjust the energy levels accordingly.
- Step 3: Ensure the person’s chest is bare and dry. Remove any clothing and wipe the chest area if necessary to provide a clean surface for pad attachment.
- Step 4: Peel the backing off the pads and apply one pad on the upper right side of the chest, just below the collarbone, and the other pad on the lower left side, under the armpit.
- Step 5: If the pads are not pre-connected, plug the connector into the AED. The device will confirm proper connection and begin analyzing the heart rhythm.
